I was going to make one using a 66 grille several years back. They are one bar shorter. It would take some time to finish the bars around the steering box , but could be done.

You really are trying to bring everybody to tears aren't you? The last two of those that I heard of selling brought north of $25,000.

I knew there had to be a cheap one out there somewhere owned by somebody who didn't know what he had. I just always hoped I'd be the one to find it.

If you have to have them fabricated and it costs thousands, you'll come out ahead.

I'd check with Ollie Schaefer in Greenville Illinois (I think?). He has some reproduction parts for them, might be able to help you with the ones you need.

For Joe, Yes it has been done. When we got our Su 44 about 39 yrs ago , there was no grill on it. Found a 77 grill , cut it down and reshaped it around the steering box. Took lots of time , but looks original. At the time there were no 44 s in any salvage yds. Good luck. clint
