I know little about Olivers but am interested,
especially the 440.
1) Was it an offset?
2) How many were made?
3) Is the 44 a forerunner to the 440?
4) Are there ever any for sale?

There was a 440 on the classifieds the other day for $5500. I think it was near Kansas City. I don't have the production numbers right in front of me,they're in an old issue of HPOCA or Oliver Heritage. Seems like there were something like 900 Super 44s and 500 440s. Don't hold me to that.

I am restoring a Cockshutt 20. When I got to the grill I noticed that there was no wire mesh behind the outer horizontal members. Short of spending $239 for a new grill set does anyone know, a)how heavy the mesh was that they used and b)how was the mesh attached?
