Oliver 550 wont start

So my oliver 550 quit running while i bushhogging, it has gas, i changed out the battery with my truck battery so i know its getting power, but it still wont crank. Could it be a problem with the starter or ignition switch?

So my oliver 550 quit running while i bushhogging, it has gas, i changed out the battery with my truck battery so i know its getting power, but it still wont crank. Could it be a problem with the starter or ignition switch?

On my 550 last year the coil wire broke inside the starter solenoid. I Put a different solenoid on it. Make sure the transmission is in neutral and set the brakes. Turn the key to on and jump across the starter solenoid. If it starts then you know the ignition system is okay. When it quit did it stumble a bit or just shut off.

None of us reading your post have a clue. Get a $5 test light and troubleshoot it.

I don't think either would cause it to quit. Just guessing, the brush may have pulled something like a ground wire off. No gas wouldn't stop it from cranking.
