oliver 60 row crop

Is there a road gear for the 1941 Oliver 60 row crop? I have heard there is a way to speed it up!

You can swap in a final drive ring and pinion from a standard tread tractor. Standard tractors had smaller diameter wheels so they needed faster gearing to run the same speed as a row crop with taller rear wheels. Also having the later model 2 range trans will help too.

Another item for consideration is that later model 60"s (I"d have to do some research to find out which year was the cut-off) had 5 speed transmissions instead of 4 speeds like the early ones. That could potentially offer some more speed without having to locate parts for a standard (Oliver 60 Standards are rare). I"ve never tried to swap them out, but I know the 5 speed was a quieter, smoother shifting transmission and it may be possible to put it in your tractor if you do some research first.
