Oliver 77 belt

posting in general forum to hopefully get more attention. the alternator belt snapped on my Oliver so I got a new one and now I have just gotten loose the crank tension nuts and have the crank as loose as it'll go and I just can't quite get the belt over the crank pulley so I can put the alternator belt on. what do I do?

You may have to pull the alternator bolts out and angle the alternator and get the belt in the groove then reinstall the bolts. Or buy the next longer sized belt.

ended up getting it figured out. had to take the belt off the top pulley then off the crank pulley then was able to get the alternator belt on and then get the crank pulley belt back on

Oliver 77 generator/alternator belt was driven from the fan pulley. Not from the crankshaft. So either you have a super 77, or it has been modified.
