Oliver 77 Carburetor Problem

Working on an Oliver 77. The tractor will not run unless you fully restrict the air going into the carburetor. The engine then runs, but when you open the airway, it dies. The carburetor is getting plenty of gas. The carburetor was recently rebuilt.

What are the initial settings: load, idle and float?

Any help would be appreciated......thanks.

is this a marvel sheibler carb? if so check to make sure the emulsion tube is there. if it is check to make sure it is clean and tight. just one of those things i've ran across with those symptoms.

Yes it is a Marvel Sheibler carburetor.

Good Morning - I took the carb of my 77 4 times before I got it right.
Kept finding little pieces of crud in various places. Would not run unless I held hand over intake. Then would not run unless choke was pulled- then would not run at all.
Simple carb - I can practically take it apart in my sleep now - was very frustrating - mostly because I was in a hurry and did NOT take the time to look and clean everywhere
