Oliver 77 trans problem

I went to use my 77 Oliver today and after I started it I went to shift it into high range. And I cannot get it to change ranges. All four gears work fine in low range. Any ideas on the problem. TIA.

Take out the bolts that hold the shifter in. Be CAREFUL when you lift it up, there are 2 small springs under there and you don't want them to fall into the transmission. Once you can look into the tranny there are 2 shifter rods side by side with notches. Use a large screwdriver to line up the large center notches. Reassemble in reverse order and you should be good to go.

The shift rods go up through the front of the trans. There are detent balls up there that get rusty and sticky. They also get worn. Driving it around in the highest gear you have might throw some oil up on it. I took the shifter out of mine and tried to spray penetrating oil up there.
I dont if that help or just driving it but it got better.
