Oliver 770 pto

Pto on the oliver 770 wouldn't shut off. Ran it that way too long and the discs came apart. I put new discs in and I can't seem to get it so it snaps on properly. Roughly how many shims should be in each pack to make this work right with new discs?

Enough so it snaps , if your lever fork and bearing are ok.

Make sure all the shim packs are the same. I put new discs in my 1550 and didn't have enough shims. I got six 1/8 thick hardened washers and made sure they were all the same thickness. Divided the remaining shims equally. Works fine.
