how big of a stroke can you do before you have to notch the cam

seems like, but not 100% sure 4.75 and you do not have to notch cam, but still have to grind clearance on block a little. I just picked up my new 5.00" stroker yesterday and ready to start grinding this week,

Had to notch my cam slightly for 4.75" with early 77 2" rod journals.

Depends on the rod used,If you use 77 rods not sure honestly.I have billet steel rods in mine at 5.250 stroke and cam is not touched,With a 4.125 bore very tough engine been running 12 years strong.

rich, can i ask what rod journal size you have? I have 5" crank and 7.100 rods with 2.2 journal

Journals are 2.00 used chevy small block rod bearings..Yours should be good and strong with 2.20 rod journals.How many RPM will you be turning?

With the 5 inch crank or a differant stroke? I turn about 2500-2600 under load no problems yet
