Would like ID help with model nu. Need several parts one of which is the part at the bottom of the hanger the bearings support the disc axle in. see picture (I hope). Front disc are 18in rear 14.

I think I make out the model # to be a 292, which was also sold as a Ford 240. picture of the whole disc would confirm for me.
IMHO, one of the best discs made in it's time.

52 would be my guess.

It is a model 252. Buy your parts/bearings from Shoup Manufactureing.They carry bearings,flanges.spools,gang nuts,even axles.... They use a 1-1/8" round axle.Take it apart,measure and determine what parts to order. Your parts will be to you in 3 days..A word of advise: order enough bearings to change all the bearings in that gang while it is apart.Seems I take mine apart every year...

That's a pretty extreme difference in blade sizes, it likely will ridge pretty bad with a 4 inch blade difference. Lot of bucks I know, but might want to run some new blades on it. Now the time to bite the bullet if you are pulling one wing apart anyhow.....

Looks like it has been used with the shaft nut too loose. When you put it back together, tighten the nut and then hit a blade on the back side of the disc with a hammer. If the blade "sings" it is tight enough. It the blade just has a dull "thunk" when you hit it, the shaft is not tight enough.
