Question... what does the gear on the side of the distributor do? the oil pump is driven by other means correct? I am use to small block chevy where the gear on dizzy is driven by the camshaft and drives the oil pump. I have a new dizzy for a 310 gas and it doesnt have a gear on it, just the cog on bottom for oil pump.. so trying to figure out how this is supposed to work.. thanks in advance for info...
