Oliver help

Hello, this is my 1st post. My Dad has what I think is a Oliver industrial front end loader, gasoline 4 cyl. Unsure of year. We are trying to figure out what to do with it. It's definitely in rough shape. The idea of scrapping it is definitely being discussed. We live in Idaho. Any input is great. Thank you & God bless. Here's a couple pics.

Welcome.

Scrap prices are decent right now. Does it have Oliver tags on it anywhere? Any ID tags whatsoever, engine, inner frame, dash, etc? If so take pics and post them up. If it's a four cylinder it generally started life as either a Super 55, 550, 66, or 660.

Whereabouts in ID?

Where would I look for any ID tags?
Also: Potlatch Idaho.

Just looking at what I can see of the engine, particularly the left side where the lower radiator hose is and the air cleaner. I don’t think that has the factory Waukesha in it anymore. A factory engine would have the lower radiator hose on the right side and the air cleaner and governor controls would all be on the front left. I’ve never seen a 66 industrial with the heavy front hubs. Not saying they couldn’t have put a one off together that way but most 66 industrials just had stamped steel front wheels.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnd I retract my last statement. Looking at the photo closer I see the radiator is bolted down. That means it's earlier than I was originally thinking. Being a heavy four cylinder... it has to be an Oliver 80 or 90. So I started leaning towards an Oliver 80 given the manifold bolt ears/tabs I can see. I don't think the 90 had those in that configuration. The air cleaner and exhaust are in the right locations. Water pump looks correct. I believe those front wheels would be correct for an industrial. And if I remember correctly, the Oliver 35 was the earlier industrial version of the Oliver 80. So that's my final answer. It's an Oliver 35 or a later Industrial 80.

If there's a serial number/model tag, it should be on the right side of the engine.

OK, now I'm done.

Now that you say that if you look close behind the loader frame you can also see the hart parr style head light brackets bolted to both sides of the radiator.

I did a little looking the morning & I found a metal tag on the magneto ( will get a Pic hopefully tomorrow). However I did find some numbers stamped Into the block behind the carburetor ( I will attach a picture). So anyway, what do these old Oliver tractors weigh? This Oliver is going down the road. The only question is: is it worth anything or should it go for scrap? Thanks for all the great information. God bless.

It's worth something to someone. The question is if it's worth more than scrap as it sits... I would think a 35 would be worth a bit more than an 80 to the right person, but they're few and far between. Weight is hard saying with all that extra metal bolted on. Honestly if it were mine I'd strip all that loader off and have a cool old gas tractor. If the manifold is still good that alone can be worth more than scrapping the entire tractor. I think they're about $800 new if you order one through Rosewood.

So it's an Oliver 80 industrial.

Im replying to this thread rather than your other because there's more info in here (Other than serial tag photo). Put the photo of the serial tag in here. Oliver stuff is much harder to sell in the western US than the Midwest. I think you'd be best off putting it up for sale for a couple grand at most, especially if the intake isn't cracked up and the engine isn't frozen. If you don't get it drop the price until you sell it, otherwise, scrap it. Prices are decent right now and then you'd be rid of it. It's a hard sell given its age.

If you do scrap it and the manifold is still good, I'd save it and the carb and sell it separately.
