Oliver model 70 engine

(quoted from post at 06:46:49 01/17/23) Did Oliver use Oliver built engines in the 70 ,was told they had the Continental engine .

There were no oliver-built engines in the 70. They were all built elsewhere or bought in (Continental option). Main components cast by Oliver. Built by Waukesha, I expect.

Oliver 70 was a Continental 201cuin- 3.125 bore and 4.375 stroke six cylinder, There was a 3 gear and a 5 gear model. A good friend of mine recently passed away and left me his collection. I now have 2 of each. I am in the process of building a pulling engine for my Hart-Parr now.4 speed and six speed transmissions were available.

The Fleetlines, 66-77-88, Supers, three and four digits used Oliver cast, Waukesha finished engines. The 70s used Continental, yes.
