Anyone know how many were made?

There were 1300 early 88 row crop tractors built with the 70 style grill, 485 standards and 265 Industrials.

Check out Fox Auction in Iowa. They have the second 88 Oliver ever built on their auction. It need a total rebuild as it has been setting outside for years. Wish I had the money!

I don't think I'd even paint that one. Just run a buffer over it and polish it up. From the look of the decal, I'd say it's an old repaint.

Remind me how we know that? I thought records didn't exist that early or were burnt up. I don't remember. I need pills.

I don’t remember where those numbers came from. I will guess it was from an archive copy of the HPOCA magazine. They usually have a table in the article of the featured tractor model With the breakdown.

scootergmc asked how we know how many Old Style (Streamline) 88's wee built. The first Streamline row crop 88 was serial number 120001 the first Fleetline row crop was 121301, 1299 numbers used for Streamline. Standards the first serial number Streamline was 820001 the first Fleetline serial number 820486, 484 Streamline standard numbers used. The first Streamline Industrial serial number was 920001 the first Fleetline serial number is 920226, 264 serial numbers used on Industrial Streamline 88's. Both Streamline and Fleetline 88's were built in 1948.
