Oliver Plow 2

I saw Hobo's post about his buddy's Oliver plow, then stumbled
upon this one. I had something the owner wanted, so we traded.
It's not exactly the same as the one Hobo posted, but it is adjustable width.
Both coulters came with it. The front one was loose so I put it inside.

Good score I hope it plows as good as my buds,,, it was adjusted dead nuts it pulled and drove great... He did set it at 12" and never tried it at 14"...

My neighbor wants a food plot put in yet this spring.
I usually use my Ford 2 bottom, but if I can get this cleaned
up in time I'm going to try it out and see how it does.
I think this one only has two width settings.
It was advertised as a John Deere 2-16. I think it's 12 and 14.
Tomorrow I'll measure it and make sure.
No JD markings anywhere on it, just stamped TP-3011
I've got enough tractor to pull it either way.

Royse,
Remember, Even though they are "adjustable" frames, each width bottom has different characteristics and different furrow turning ability, as well as short or long points, extensions on moldboard, and whether you are plowing corn stalks or sod. Dearborn plows have different bottoms for each width. Early JD pull plows came with an offset down frame, that you could turn around to go from a 14" to a 16", using the same bottoms. Sales point- upgrade from model "B" to "A" and not buy a new plow.
But I would question going from 12" to 16".
using same bottoms.
Also remember that plows frames are different for "narrow tire width spacing" and wide. I have to readjust the plow when going from my 52" 2N to my 54" 600 to keep the furrow widths equal.
I once bought a narrow width 3-16" for my JD 4010, that I had to redo the 3 point to get it to line up right.
Sorry about my advice on buying the 600.

Thanks for the tips Charles.
I'm thinking I'll set it narrow, adjust it and leave it alone.
As long as it works well.

Nothing to be sorry about on that 600!
It was a fence row tractor with new rear tires and rims.
I bought the tires and they gave me the tractor.
The smoke has pretty well cleared up, I worked the gardens
with it this spring. Don't know if you saw the post on that.
I expect them to need some work when I pull them out of a
fence row, so I'm not disappointed in it needing some TLC.
Thanks again for your help!

I had to ask what model it was and I think CrawlerJohn nailed it.
From what I have found, the 3241 was basically the same as a
3240 only a newer version. (just going by what I've read)
Both were available in 2 or three bottom.
Manuals are available on fleabay.
This one is not a spring trip.
