Oliver Plow.

I recently purchased an old Oliver Plow. It has what many refer to as the rooster comb lift. It is a 2 bottom 16 inch. There is no steering wheel on the rear.

My question is what is the correct color skeem?

This one is 98% rust. The beams appear to have been green. The axles, and lift mechanism appear to have been red. The wheels, I do not know what color they were. They are totally rusted. This is a rubber tired plow. Couldn"t find any paint on the wheels. Was the back of the mollboards black? I have asked many Oliver people but no one seems to know for sure what color this plow was. I have a completely restored 1944 Oliver 70 to put ahead of this plow for shows and parades.

If no one knows, I will paint the beams green, the axles, wheels, tongue and lift mechanism red and the back of the mollboards black.

If anyone has any pictures of one of these plows that are painted correctly I would appreciate receiving them.

Thank You

I have an old Oliver 100 plow and the frame is green, the only thing red are the wheels and the mouldboards are black. However, I was told by a reliable source that sometimes the colors where the opposite of what I just told you, and it was based on the year the plow was manufactured.
