Oliver sickle mower

I have been given an Oliver sickle bar mower. Its a pull type with what appeared to be a 7 foot bar. I have not transported it home yet. Its a pull type without a hydraulic lift. Could this be a model 22 and is there a photo that someone knows of that would assist in the restoration and new paint? Owner has a new pitman arm for it as well.

Oliver pull type mower could be a 415 and it was avaible with either hydrolic lift or rope lift and they are interchangable easly, also avaible with or without rear PTO and hitch for pulling a hay conditioner behind. Same mower was marketed under the Moline and Cockshutt names in their colors under the 415 number. I think the 22 is not a pull type but a semi mount type. Never seen or heard of any pulltypes other than the 415 that was being built at the end of the Oliver, Moline, Cockshutt names.

All except the old steel wheel horse drawn mowers would be PTO driven. What I was saying was with the 415 you can pull two implements at the same time and do 2 different jobs, both mowing and conditioning at same time with same tractor

This is a Cockshutt 315 same as the Oliver 415 just red. Fact mine has a lot of green parts on it.

Ah, gotcha. It looks like the one Matt has on there. I can leave it stored where is until spring. Its inside with a bunch of other antiques. There is 2 Case tractors next to the door. Both are 1939 models sitting on original wheels. Tires are shot, but both are solid and not rusted out. There is a JD 520 in there under inches of dust. It was purchased new by the same fella. He has his model T and a 1970's Ford Thunderbird under a cover in another part of the barn. His JD 4020 still fires off like it rolled off the assembly line and looks good. I didn't get into the back shed too far, but did see a pull type deere combine and an Oliver combine with a 4 row head at the door. Its amazing what an 86 year old fella has stored. Heck, there is even a pair of JD snowmobiles on a trailer.
