Onan Engine

The Onan is running great again. After plugs and new gas filter there was no improvement, so I took the carburetor apart and found some black like
stuff in it.Also the needle and seat were dirty also. After a through cleaning it runs great again. THANK YOU to all that helped.

Good that it is running again. That black stuff might be a rubber fuel line deteriorating inside. Replace old lines and install a fuel filter. zuhnc

I agree most common thing. Is old fuel lines. Some times the pump is coming apart.

Been down this road. The secret is to use a good fuel filter. Those cheapies don't have the filtering capability. I now only use OEM filters which I'm thinking are like 60-70 micron.
