This is probably to easy. Spent many days using one of these in my youth.

If you know what it is don't tell let's see what the guesses are.

Looks like it has a good bit of wear. Got
one here in the garage and have used it
also.

We have a version of the same tool down here .

A little heavier than yours by the look of it , the back of the blade is used as a chopper for heavier stems and small branches . Many hours are spent using these by fire fighters during the season .

Yup, brush hook. Now their biggest problem. People don't keep them
sharp. Last one I played with I clamped it down and sharpened it with
my sanding disk grinder. Wow did that ever do the trick. They are not
a mowing machine but when sharpened, woo hoo.

Used my Grandpa's as a kid - broke it. He wasn't none too happy about that!

Got my own a few years back at an auction, but just not as nice as Grandpa's! His was a bit larger than the one pictured, and the one pictured looks about like mine - only "prettier". Mine is painted with fluorescent green spray paint that came out in splotches. *lol*

My Dad (90 yrs old at the time) was told he could not use a chain saw after he had a pacemaker installed. He sat on his hind end in a pasture and cut LOTS of bushes off with this thing. I told him I'd come
help with the chain saw, but he wanted to do it himself! Sharp as a razor. Guess it didn't hurt him, he's 94 now and still living on the farm.

Brush hook. I've put in a lot of time on one. Terrible tool as far as twisting in your hands goes. Great for brush/real heavy weeds like burdock.
