One way hydralics. Are they pump friendly?

Hey yall. I bought a 990 international 7foot haybinde. It has one lift cylinder and it is one way hydralics. Is one way hydralics good for my 185 allis hyd pump? Some people tell me they are fine others say I will be buying a new pump. Appreciate help on this one. Thanks in advance

Pumps make pressure and CONTROL VALVES control the output either one-way or two-way. PSI and GPM are determined by the pump.

Sunny, just make sure the lever that operates the remote valve returns to the center position after the implement is lowered or raised. This is true with double acting cylinders also.

On your 185,just hook the hose to the raise (up) outlet and when you want to lower just push the lever on past the lower detent into the float mode and everything will work perfect. That is the way it is designed to work.Don't let some people scare you out.

I don't have a float detent on mine so when lowering I can just touch the lever enough to connect the cylinder pressurized port to drain but the unused port doesn't let have the open centre flow diverted to it.

If I throw the lever the whole way it will put the pump into relief and kill enough hp to slow the tractor down a few rpm's.
