ORC Install

I purchased a ORC the other day and attempted to install it on my 41 9N. the splines lined up great, but the roll pin hole does not line up. Is this an issue? or can I run it as is. The front of the ORC hits the flat surface around the PTO Shaft keepjng the roll pin hole from lining up. I have a five foot Brush hog and it makes the front end very light, so much that the front tires will not steer the tractor when in the brush hog is in the up position. Has any one ever weighted the font tires? Is this possible and safe?

weight n the front tires helps.. but usually is not enough.. most of us install a bumper and hang weight from it.

as for your orc not fitting.. try to find a smaller one.. perhaps a push button release one that will fit.. if you can't get the roll pin hole back far enough.. it's no good. Unless you can get a 3" extender to pin on, then add the orc.. though that may make the driveline a tad long.. but would work.

I have a bumper, I have not installed it. I will put it on and grab a 3 inch extention at TSC. Thanks for the input on my output!

I had the same problem a few years ago, was a weekend and could not return the new one I had just bought. I took it to the grinder and took off about 1/4 inch of stock. Worked for me, you be your own judge. But you do not want that shaft comming off while running. joe

I don't think you want the extension. It will cause bad drive line angles especially with mower raised. Also will have to shorten drive shaft on mower.

Get the right ORC!
