ORC

My tractor came with an ORC and the splines are buggered up. How do you remove it? I dont see any pins or clips on it only 2 grease fittings.

The pin is under the grease fittings!. Remove both of them, line it up, and drive it out.

Make sure you use a punch or drift that is larger than the ID of the roll pin in there. If you think that getting the drift inside of the pin will drive it out, it won't!

If you replace it w/ a standard ORC, get a roll pin of the correct diameter & length, (5/16 x 2”) slide the ORC back on the PTO shaft, line up the hole in the ORC w/ the hole in the PTO shaft & drive the roll pin in w/ a punch. You should have a grease zerk on one side of the ORC & a screw on the other that covers the hole.

I replaced mine with a new one a couple of years ago. It came with two grease fittings. One on each side.

normally uses a 5/16 x 2" roll pin available at most hardware stores. $0.50 - $0.75 apiece. I keep a bunch of them around

thanks to all for the help. Mine was rigged with a bolt with the head cut off but with your guidance the problem is solved. Took my dremel and smothed ot the splines and PTO shaft fits great. Again Thanks Gentlemen

I had a problem with the driveshaft from the tractor to the implement. It started to wobble wildly(broken u-joint) to the bush hog.....Well..the wobbling snapped the large round spring clip on the tractor end of the ORC...and it fell apart. I didn"t look close enough in the dirt to find all the parts...I lost the two keys and springs from the inside of the ORC. Can these be purchased as a replacement part.? {I already got the spring clip} OR do I buy a new ORC ? Ken....498N
