oscillating multitool on bolts?

Like many others here with old machinery and buildings, I often run across a big bolt with such messed up threads I'll have to cut it off, or a nut that is going to come off only if I split it. I usually use a Dremel with a reinforced cutting disc for this job, but that's sometimes awkward. I've noticed that now there are carbide flush-cutting blades for oscillating tools, and it occurred to me that that could be a winning approach to problems like this. Has anyone here tried them for cutting bolts?

I bought a carbide blade for an oscillating saw.

Thought it would be good for cutting nails, etc. It didn't hold up any better than a good metal blade.

Never tried it on a bolt or nut though. It appeared the fine carbide teeth quickly broke off. I don't see carbide that thin and fragile working well for something hand held and unstable.

For the price I never tried another one.

Me too. The oscillating tool won't cut a hardened bolt. The blades are about $7 a pop and dull if they come in contact with a hardened bolt.

I buy 6 inch dewalt disks at rural king on sale for a $1 each. I buy a box and use them on my 4.5 inch grinder. The 6 inch ones last longer.

I even carry a cordless grinder in truck to use when I not close to 120v. It my go to tool when I doing a repair. My oscillating tool see very little use.
