OT 2005 Ford Focus

I changed the oil in my grand daughter's car and tried to check the air filter. The box that I thought contained the filter would not come open. Looked in manual and it says filter is not replaceable. It says it is good for 150,000 miles. I have never heard of such a filter. Does anyone know how to expose the filter so I can at least blow it out with compressed air? Replacement cost $400+.

I owned a 2005 Focus. It does not have an air filter. The system they have in there is a electrified screen and if any dirt or bugs enter the intake the screen distroys the dirt and bugs and it never makes to the engine. Works great. I had for 145,000 miles and never had a problem with it.

i have an 03 focus and it has an air filter and i like it! cars are going far too electronic these days.
