OT air compressor

Found this at a yard sale yesterday picked it up for $200
It is a ingersolrand 200 gallon two stage
The 5Hp motor cost that alone
Now to strip it down and repraint it

Having problems posting the picture for some reason I can't choose the file from the phot bucket account the choose file button will not highlight ?

What type of oil do I Put in the air compressor?

I don't know if you can do it in classic, but in modern view you can post mulitple pics by using IMG codes.

Would you believe they sell an oil made just for compressors and most any good auto parts store sells the stuff

You can buy compressor specific oil...but most compressors I've ever dealt with use a SAE 30 non detergent in them.

Don't look like a 200 gal tank to me... 30HD are IR Select synthetic...

Plane Bart,I have maintained several large IR air compressors at work and my own at home for 25 years.I use a good quality 30 weight non detergent oil in them with a oil change from once to four times a year depending on its use some run 24/7.And never have had a compressor failure.Use 30# Non detergent because it's non foaming.I'm with JasonS and cheaper than synthetic.

Good deal if it woks at all. That's a single phase 5HP motor???

Your right Hobo it is 200 psi rated and 80 gallon read the nameplate wrong.lol
Got off all the old paint today almost ready for the re-paint
It is a 240 volt single phase and it did run when I disconnected it from the POs shop
