having an ongoing problem with the phone co. towit. out of the blue, one day a package came from at&t. containing 3 cordless phones, with the bill indicating i would be charged over $100.00 for the phones. i did not order the phones or anything else from them. it took over an hour to finally get someone to agree to send me a return label. i returned the phones, and now i am battling them about getting my money refunded. sorry , JUST BLOWING OF SOME STEAM. HAVE A NICE DAY

As a low level, hourly employee of said company, all I can say is welcome to the NEW AT&T. The entire company is going to h#ll in a hand basket. All of the union contracts are up this year and I really beleive they are trying to hurt the company in order to make things look worse than they are...of course they did make 12 billion last year and the CEO got a 22 percent pay raise, so its getting harder to paint a bad picture. But seriously though, we are having all kinds of trouble with the business office selling things to people that have no clue about it...totally made up orders.

Hi CB, Sometimes this works and sometimes it back fires but I tell them in a nice voice "I see that competitor XYZ is in town, maybe I should switch what do you think I should do?" After a brief pause they either help me or tell me to do, what I think is best... CB like I said about 70% of the time it works. All the best Woody.

Yeah, but the service is really great. HAH. I called the repair line this morning to report a loud roar when talking on the landline. The lady I spoke to said they would have it fixed no later than Friday, May 22. I told her that was pitiful. She agreed and apologized, but said they are snowed under with repair orders. Sounds like somebody needs to hire some help.

I'll have to take back what I said about the service. I went to the mailbox this afternoon to get the mail, and the repairman was at the ATT riser beside the road. I said hi and chatted awhile, then mentioned that I had reported my phone this morning and was told it would take over a week to fix it. He said, yes, they had 5 repair people to handle 3 counties and they were snowed under. The company was planning to bring in 150 people from Longview to help this weekend. He was working on a neighbor's phone, and he said he would try to troubleshoot mine while he was here. Sure enough, he fixed it. I'm happy, but there are still a lot of people out there waiting for help.

When dealing with AT&T---BEWARE!!
My wife an I got two cell phones from this company and a $50.00 rebate per phone. Problem was, they wouldn't send the rebate.
After many calls, we finally received ONE! We didn't give up and persued to contact them for the SECOND one.
Almost a year later we got the second one.

Where I live, no high speed internet is available. We were on dial-up. We tried the AT&T wireless AirCard and it worked much faster the dial-up. So we agreed to a two year contract that was nearly $60.00 per month.
This worked fine for about one month and then it slowed down.
We contacted them no less then 8 times in a 6 month peroid and all we got was excuses.
We are now back to dial-up and it is faster then AT&A AirCard.
They finally cancelled the AirCard but we have paid them a lot of money for NOTHING!

"there are still a lot of people out there waiting for help"....without a doubt. Last summer I roto-tilled my phone line, placed a service call. Since I had no phone service at all, they had someone out within a few hours. The repair guy laughed when I told em what happened. He patched the line w/o a problem. I asked what it was going to cost. The guy looked around and said it looks like the locate was off, no charge. I gave him a watermelon from the garden.

Have fun.....don t. ....

Different phone Co. When we are in Florida we have to use Verizon for our land line. When we left in 2008 to come back to Michigan my wife called them to have the line disconnected. They said that they could put it on vacation for up to 9 months at no charge and when we came back be reconnected and we would have the same number. Sounded good so we took it. Now here is the strange part. They treat it like we had paid a year in advance, so every month we have it on vacation we get a credit, even thought we did not pay a year a head. So now we use the phone for 3 months and have it on vacation for 9 months and now they owe us. We have tried to tell them something is wrong with the billing but it's like talking to a box of rocks. It looks to me that they want to show that they need a rate increase.

thanks for the responce and the experiences that you have had with at&t. of all the problems, one the most agravating is the fact that it took me over an hour on the phone to try to get someone to help take care of the situation. have a nice day

ATT knows that their future is in wireless not land lines and they aren t going to hire any more techs than they need to keep their own phones working at the HQ.

(quoted from post at 18:29:36 05/15/09) ATT knows that their future is in wireless not land lines and they aren t going to hire any more techs than they need to keep their own phones working at the HQ.

As one who works for ATT, if the land line don't work yer wireless ain't gonna work either. Just how do ya think the signal gets to the cell towers or the high speed DSL or the U-verse TV they are pushing. During the ice storm last January the only thing working were the land lines after the batteries failed at the cell sites.
