Nice looking buck! Congrats.

Nice looking buck you got there. Getting a deer onto the carry all platform sure beats getting them up an onto a truck tailgate! I do the same with my carry all. This was a deer taken two years ago.

Nice, BTDT! We used a two wheel trailer and had as many as four coming out of the woods! Nice!

What's your stick and string of choice? I'd be very impressed if those hooks were put on there specifically as a bow rack ;) Looks good!

Up until a few years ago I was shooting a 70# bear Long bow with Fleming twist but because of back problems I have now switched to a compound bow. Still use the leather back quiver and always will. Although the hooks would make a good bow rack they are actually there for my crop spraying wand

Our permit bow season starts Saturday and the bucks are starting to rut. Our gun season isn't until Dec. Good luck when you go out.

Good looking meat and fantastic fleet in the background. I still feel for the guys who had to drag deer out of the woods by hand. One guy really struggled, dragging it by the horns. When he was told that it was easier to drag it by the hind feet he said, "but I wasn't going that way". As I am not a hunter, I don't know how old that story is.

John, My father was an avid hunter and fisherman but though he took me along many times and sent me out to sure thing spots out on the mountainsides for dawn, I never took to it. I did get one. It was not too far up on a mountainside and there was a crusty snow on the ground. it was a 6 point buck and I started to pull it head first with a short length of rope. Pulling head first the fur lies in its natural direction whereas feet first it would be like stroking a short haired dog or cat backwards. This deer pulled so easily that way that it kept running up on me on the steep slope. Finally I sat on its shoulders holding the head up by the antlers and rode it down the hill.

I've had good luck using aluminum atv ramps to get them slid into the back of my pickup. Wrap a tow strap around their head and walk up the ramps and they slide right up there with minimal effort or lifting. Then I use a chainfall in the apple tree to lift them out of the back of the pickup.
