OT: Chevy Silverado Headlights

This is off topic but lots of experts in the forum. So thought I would ask.

I have a 1995 Chevy Silverado. Just noticed that both low beam headlights are not working. Got 2 new bulbs and still not working.

Highbeams, parking lights, turn signals, dashboard lights all work.

Does this mean the relay is shot and needs replacing?????

Alot of multi-function switches on these went bad causing a few different problems like you describe.We called them multi-DIS-function switches at the dealership.

The turn signal lever is part of the switch.

Let me guess, does your truck have a "Tilt wheel"? I believe Brad got it right. I just replaced mine on a 1999 C1500. My headlights would come on and off as you adjusted the steering wheel. Good luck, jackie

I agree with Brad and Jack. I've got a 95 silverado with 320,000 miles, and am on my 3rd. multi function switch. The first one I lost the high beams, the second, both high and low beams, along with a disturbing burning smell.

I've seen alot of daytime running light relays fail causing these exact symptoms.

On the switch, I got a HD headlight wiring harness, that sends the voltage to the headlights from a relay and not the switch. Switch does not get nearly as hot anymore and headlights are much brighter. Was about $140 online. A little pricey, but I can see much better now and don't have to worry about the switch going out again. I think the place was kennedy diesel, not sure if that is spelled right. Jim

It actually could be more things,but I would go right to the multi-function switch out of instinct 'cause of the high number of these that I've replaced.
Never replaced a relay for this condition on this model.

Haven't seen a headlight relay since 6 volt cars. Do they exist. I am serious since I have been know to forget.
