OT Dance Floor

Built a pole shed for a guy one time and cemented the floor. The guy wanted to have a party after we were done with a band. He put flax seed down to make it slippery. Used to know a guy who would take a bag of corn starch along when he went dancing and if the floor got sticky he would sprinkle some of that down as he danced and made it pretty slick.

I know they used to use Cargami Wax flakes to slick bowling alleys and shuffle board courts. Maybe for dance floors too?

You know that you can make a dance floor to slippery? Did you watch the episide of Home Improvement, with Tim Allen where he waxed the dance floor and everyone was slidding around and one girl broke her leg?

I guess we were pretty backwards in the rural area I grew up in, but they used "dance floor wax". GOOGLE it!

The commercial product was called "20 Mule Team Spangles" and the box said it "makes every floor a dance floor." Not sure it is still available but google is your friend.

There is a product called Dance Wax.

It is a powder or flake not sure which. Sorry I don't know where to get it but it works great. Only time I saw it was when I was in a Singles group and there was one guy in the group who had a supply and that was what we used.

I remember them saying they used dry sawdust on the floor at the old barn dances and house dances. Probably not what you're talking about. . .
