But for once i can not find what i need . Our old N H 782 chopper took a dump the pulley that runs the blower or fan how ever ya want to call it broke , ok need new one or a good used one my buddy goes to the dealer yep the part number is in the book the price is in the book but NAL ok so now we call everybody that i know or ever meet in the years of buying and selling and fixen . I have three card files of guys business cards from all over the country well i called half and my buddy called the other half plus phone #'s that they gave us to call. Well after two day on the phone and hate to see the phone bills we both came up empty handed . Soooooo if any of you know of a NH 782 1000 RPM pto chopper layen around dead in a fence row or shed that has the three grove 10.65 inch dia. pulley on the blower let me know.

Now I'm a little unclear. If it's just the pulley that broke, is there any good reason you can't simply attach a new pulley (and perhaps a bearing for good measure) ? Did the shaft break too?

Does the pully have a hub in it? If so what kind, also is it a three groove for B belts? Pully should not be hard to find. Let us know more and will try to help. Doc

Yes it has a hub that stays on the shaft and yes if ya read my post it is a three grove one belt with with three vees.

Yes we could go that route and that has been looked into already , best take your NITRO pills with ya , if we could find a new one the cost is 206 bucks to get one made triple the cost and wait for a couple weeks .

Well firt ya have to find one that is a three grove 10.65 inch in dia. with the correct offset . Been fixen stuff for a long time and i have made things work but sometimes ya have to get the correct part . We even thought about maken changes to use the 709 set up but here again there is changes between locations of gearbox setting that will not allow the change with out totaly rebuilding the whole chopper.

Baum Hydraulics or any Browning dealer will have such a pulley with universal tapered hubs. So you buy a stock pulley and a stock hub to fit pulley and shaft, bolt them together and you are running again.

Could the pulley be welded or brazed by a good shop? If it's cast iron brazing would work well. If it's steel welding would work. With some careful grinding it could be made smooth enough for the belt without having to be machined. I guess it depends on how and where it broke. Hope this helps. Dave

Can't help you on finding one, and don't know what this one looks like, but I'd probably hack at it with a Sodel 35 and see what happens. I've welded pulleys before with that rod and had it come out fine... and it was in a lot of pieces starting out. It was only a 540 pulley though... Just heat it good first before you weld.

Vet I may have a lead on one. Guys at lunch told me where there are a couple setting for parts. Is it the driver or driven pulley that you need. Need 1000 RPM and 10.65 in correct? I am a little ways away but would be willing to check it out if you still need one. Migraine
