Not long after I got out of high school The chapter ended. The teacher went to work for the ASC office after that. Last I knew he was still there. An alumni chapter was trying to go but not sure what happened there never developed. Has turned into a city school more than it was then.

I stopped a couple of weeks ago at a Culver's and was watching the closed circuit ads for eating at Culvers. The video direction turned to FFA and a question about the year the one millionth jacket was sold. A life long close friend of mine was the winner in the fall of 1964. He was recognized at the national convention in Kansas City that October and was given another coat with his going to Washington. My new coat order was on the next line and we joked that'unofficially' I mine was number 1,000,001! I still have it!

Lets try them on and see! I want a picture for proof! (My wife can still fit in hers just alot tight in the upstairs area)

Granddaughter got involved with FFA in both middle and high school level and loved it. She showed pigs and steers and is now in Abraham Baldwin Agricultre College at Tifton, Ga. persuing an Ag related degre. Last fall she got certified in A.I. for Beef cattle. She is engaged to a guy that works for a big farm outfit close by. If she gets to live her dream, they will farm and raise purebred cattle.

I tried to discourage my son from ag classes and FFA. Very glad I wasnt successful

He went on to be a district president and state Vice President

The scholarship opportunities are great

I gave all my lead to my brother in law last summer. As to FFA, I still have my way small jacket. I was an officier my junior year and chapter president my senior year. FFA did me good. I was a Kansas State Farmer in 1967. I an Dad had a cow-calf and grain farm. Sure miss the farming but life took a different path.
