Finally got me a hog hunt. Fully guided night hunt. Ruger .44 bolt gun with suppressor, night vision scope and a thermal imager :D Put down a couple of hogs..

I was hunting young ones. Got a small sow and a boar. Black one is a sow and the brown one is a boar..Had big fun. Shot the boar between the eyes.

When I lived outside Brownsville Tx,they were like cockroaches in lots of places.Pretty good eating, especially young-uns.They're pretty destructive to feeders,so I'd wait for them, and dispatch them, first thing in the morning.always had fresh tamales[yum].---lha

looks like alot of fun there, I like the Ruger rifles one of the few quality guns you can still purchase at a reasonable cost.
the picture does not show it well it looks like that scope comes half way down the butt stock how do you shoot it with out getting hit in the eye on the recoil?
Thanks for posting

hat is a night vision monocular attached to a day scope with a hose clamp and a rubber tube.. He hand loads the ammo himself. They are light loads to keep the bullet from going super sonic. (no sonic boom)Recoil is like shooting a .22... That 230 grain 44 dropped these pigs like a rock LOL

(quoted from post at 11:51:12 11/21/10) Will you dress them out and have for T-Day?
Good eatin?
My guide can skin and quarter one in 10 minutes...Sticking with turkey on today...Had some good bbq yesterday.

I can just imagine you up there strapped in that high seat while they drive you around spotlighting!
YEE-HAW!!!

Nice shooting Sean.
Man I'd like to do that.
I love pork too.
And while we don't need those pesky porkers running loose here I kind of wish we did as I would put a couple smaller ones in the freezer each year.
How is your county stacking up on that rewards program someone offered for the most hogs taken?
Good to see you doing your part.

Lots of places to hunt them. Come on down.

I never heard the results. My guess is the hogs won LOL They probably wouldn't like Minnesota..To cold. They like to root. Might be hard work when the ground is frozen.

idn't shoot from the high seat. It got me in close thou. Then stalked in to about 30 yards. Shot the black one laying on the ground.

Brown boar we spotted at about 100 yards out. They were working their way up the trail that we spread corn on. I found a fallen tree that made a nice rifle rest. Then I waited. Shot him at 30 yards right between the eyes. Man that night vision is good stuff.

Is that a Ruger 44 mag bolt gun? I have been lusting after one of those to go with my Super Blackhawk 44 mag. How does it shoot?

Yeah it is a Ruger 77/44 bolt action I like it. ruger makes noting but good guns. I had a 10/44 carbine for a while. It was semi auto...I put down some deer with that gun.
