I normally use Firefox but was sitting here playing between it & IE on this site & it's amazing how much faster Firefox is. I'd never have guessed it would be that obvious of a difference.

Now back to your regular programming.....

Now back to your regular programming.....

I usually keep both installed, I can do things with FF that I can't with IE.

As a rule I use IE for most everything that I don't need FF for, but then I keep a very fast computer.

I run them both also.
I primarily use IE - without any kind of flash player and some of the java stuff turned off. It filters out much of the moving/changing advertising and I get a red X instead. Good!
A lot of things I have to C/P into Firefox so it's a tradeoff. I've never noticed any difference in speed between the two.
Will check though.

Try Apple's Safari 4 beta - it's actually the fastest browser on Mac or Windows right now. Free download at www.apple.com/safari/download . I think you need to be on WinXP or higher, though...

I've been using FF for over 3 years now and love it much more than IE. Lately, IE has been shutting down unexpectedly on me, and since I usually have multiple tabs open, been costing me alot of time and alot of work.

I also now use Opera alot and it is very fast and efficient. The one drawback with it, is that many plugins are not compatible with it. That being said, Opera is now my #1 browser, having seen absolutely no problems whatsever with it.

When I first got this computer the IE default was a 64 bit system. It won't work with some players so I downloaded FF & they worked fine. Only last night I realized there was a regular IE installed on here too. There's an option in the Startup menu for either. Looks like Dell would have told me that when I called to complain about Adobe Flash Player not working! They just said they were working on fixing it.
