i have the opportunity to purchase a 2000 kioti LB1914 with a 4' fel. i understand it to be around 20 hp. does anyone know much about these tractors, or willing to give a ballpark value. it would be greatly appreciated.

I can't help you with the value, but the Kioti brand of tractors is made in the same plant as Kubotas, using the "last year's model" blueprints from Kubota. They are, in essence, a few years older than a Kubota, without any use on them. There are very minor sheet-metal changes, but otherwise the same. Does that help??

Where did you get this info - seems very unlikely? According to the two company websites Kioti is manufactured in Korea by DaeDong Industries and Kubota's compact and larger tractors are manufactired in Japan by Kubota. Kubota's sub-compacts and L+G tractors are manufactured in the USA by Kubota. Both Kubota and DaeDong manufacture their own competing lines of diesel tractor motors.

Here's what one Kioti site has to say about their product: Kioti UK

TOH

PS> I have nothing aganst Kioti - may be a very good tractor - but I don't think it's of Kubota design or manufacture.

There are lots of Kioti owners over on tractorbynet.com and from the posts I've seen they all seem pretty happy with them. I'd suggest you ask over there.

You're right - I did what I often do, and started typing before I put my brain in gear.

The Kioti's ARE manufactured in Korea, and Kubota's in Japan, but the rest of what I said about their being made using Kubota's superceded drawings, tools, dies, etc. is straight from the mouth of our local dealer who is one of the few who sells both.

According to him, there are geeen (JD) tractors made on the same assembly line as one of them -- I don't remember which.

And I'm sure there are different models made in different places - especially the smaller lawn tractors.
