Morning all;
Like the guy says......Beware of what ya ask for!!!!
Just got done plowing yesterday, and almost time to do it again!!
We have approx. 3 ft. of snow on the unplowed areas, and 5 inches of new snow, on the plowed areas, just since yesterday at about 2 p.m.
Total of 2 ft. in 3 days, and still snowing.!
Oh yeh, and the temp. stays at the bottom spectrum of the thermomater...somewhere between 10* below zero, and 15* above zero.
The forcast today is,.......Freezing rain, until about 2:30 p.m.....then snow for tonight again.
Think I'll just glue the "N" seat, to my Butt!!!!

Lovely photo, Gary! Might as well keep the N running non-stop in weather like that!

We have light snow falling here in the Middle West (3-5" expected through tomorrow). Just got back from the elderly neighbors again, feeding cows and hogs. Hog waterer has a heater in it, but the valve and trough was completely frozen up - had to take it apart to break the ice out. Then had to fight off all the pigs while I put it together - they were thirsty!

There's a reason they call them "chores," I think... :P

That scene is just like I remember form last August, except for the snow.

With that much snow on the ground, are you going to have flooding in the spring?

I agree with Ed. Just keep Hermie running

Now Gary enough is enough. Every time you have snow there it comes this way. We don"t have the amount you do but you don"t have to keep sending it this way. Send it north where it belongs.LOL Glad we don"t have your amounts but its snowing here again today. Keep it your way.-Bill

Spent the morning useing the snowblower, to clean out the walk-ways, and the front parking areas today. Also shovled off the two front portches, of the snow from last night. Just generally goofed off, playin' around, in the nice warm weather. I don't know where that came from, but, It actually got to 24* F. around 11:00 a.m. today. I actually worked up a sweat!!!!!!!
We are forcast for MORE snow tonight....and, I'm gonna send it all to Bill in MN.   (serves him right) I might send some to Dan in CO., just so he can get some seat time. I think ED S..ILL. will be getting his own snow, tonight!!!
Still pretty overcast for pix.

Gary:

You can send us as much snow as you want. We were supposed to get 4" today, but they guessed wrong, nada! Turns out the winds from the west come down the mountains and heat up, the the moisture evaporates and no snow for us, but plenty west and east of here. Just one and a half hours to the west of me and there is fifteen feet of snow so far this month (Aspen). I got my plow all welded up and nothing to push around with it, I am pretty bummed.

LMAO!!!

I thought by yer last post you had went to bed.....

I'm betting his wife was the one dissapointed, what with being promised 4", and not getting it, and all.

Gary,

Just got in from plowing the drifts out of the driveway. Getting the tractor out of the shed was a whole 'nuther thing, though... Finally broke the door free after abundant sprinklings of salt and using a prybar to crack the bottom of the door out of its ice bond. Had to use a pick axe to chip all the ice out so I can close it without it freezing back in place.

Plowing the driveway was the consolation prize!

Like you, I broke a sweat - up to 27° here today.

I've just had too many irons in the far.

Busy time of year at work, and I have been devoting most of my other time to family research.

I finally had a break thru, in my Dad's side of the family in the last few days.

The 1830 Ga census shows my great, great, great grandpa on my Dad's side that was born in SC., in Hall County Ga.

He puts his employment down as Blacksmith.

The 1840 GA census shows him in Carroll County GA, Tallapoosa was in Carroll County at that time, as Haralson and Polk had not been created.

The 1850 thru 1880 census shows him and all of his descendants living around Tallapoosa.

The 1890 census was mostly destroyed by fire in Washington DC,

The 1900 census shows my great, great grandpa, and his family in Cherokee County Alabama, and shows my great grandpa and his 3 sons in Rome, Floyd County GA, my grandpas Mom died when he was just a child. I have not so far located her or her family.

The 1910 census thru 1930 census shows them all in Cherokee County Alabama.

Cool 1830 map of GA

You might get a kick out of this pic I ran across in my searching.
