OT: NAA prices

I have a chance to buy an NAA and need some guidance as to what they presently sell for. This tractor is 90 miles away and I have not seen it, however the owner states and I quote, the rear tires will do for a while, the fenders are dented, but aren't too bad. Same with the hood--some dents, but not too bad. Doesn't smoke and the hydraulic system works. Asking $2900.00. I have no idea if the price is too high, a steal, or about right.
I realize there are alot of unknowns, but would appreciate your opinions. Thanks

That would be on the high side around here. A recent offering:

Way too many questions with this guy . Ask him for some pics at various angles. Maybe find someone close to his location to look at it for you . If you go look , be sure to run engine , test drive it while shifting thru the gears . Also play with the hydraulics . Is there any lights ? Check all the oils even before starting it up . If oils have a milky look , thats water & needs drained . Check for any leaks . How's the brakes working . Look closely at those tires that hold air & around the valve stems for serious rust or rott thru from any calcium leaks .If the tractors as bad as you say , I'd say maybe 1,500.00 - 2,000.00 . Keep us posted & don't bite if you still have questions about it . I hope this helps . Theres a lot of schrude people out there .God bless

He's asking about $1000-$1500 more than it would sell for around here. The used tractor market is dead right now.

I don't know I'm seeing N's in need of TLC going for 1500-2k in my neck of the woods.

Best thing I can tell you is location!

Yer area is going to determine the price.

There is a big difference in "not too bad" and "will do for a while" from a sellers to a buyer discription.
I live in Atlantic Canada and know a guy with an 8n in real good condition rebuilt a number of years ago complete engine (sleeves bearing the works) and hydraulics with 4 new tires asking $1500 has had it for a year and hasn't even had an offer on it. I'd have bought it if I had the money to spend... but I've got a decent working 8N that I bought with a rear snowplow, ground plow, harrows, and chains for $400 so I don't really need another one.

I looked at one about a year ago hear in the wet west coast of Canada , was $2600, it sold in a couple of weeks , but it was in pretty fair shape , didn't see any dents tires reasonable tread, started good . It is hard to tell without looking at it< I remember a long time ago looking at a car for sale , was advertised as driven by elderly lady excellent shape, when I went to look at it , they didn't tell you that the elderly lady must have hit everything in site, oil was low and thick black. 1 tire was scrubbed off one side ,I passed.
