OT question for Soundguy

Soundguy,

I found your kerosine, trans oil, and alcohol mix for cleaning water from the N's pump/trans sump.

I am wondering if it is safe to add alcohol to a combustion engine (4wheeler) and run a few minutes just before an oil change to remove water from the engine?

Thanks for your consideration, Young in South Louisiana

I would not run it with alcohol in the oil... however thinning the oil a hair with some kero can be ok for low revs for a short
period.. however.. that said.. if you have water in your oil.. I simply would not run it.. water can wipe the bearings at op
temps fast. If it is a small engine then it's sump and internal cavity won't hold much, it should be pretty easy to just fill
the entire sump with a kero/alcohol mix and then hand turn over.
