There's a marathon of My Classic Car on today. Saw the neatest rat rod a little while ago. Thing had a huge 6 cylinder diesel in it,a turbo the size of most car engines, black smoke like crazy out of a vertical exhaust when he got on it! Don't know how he even saw around the thing to drive it. Said it ran in the eleven sixes in the quarter mile.
He had an old orginal paint JD manure spreader behind it for a trailer to haul his motorcycle. Had air bag suspension on it. They were inside of old JD planter boxes mounted on the sides of it.
Dang, made me want to start scouring the woods and fencerows for parts to build something like that!

Yeah, I saw that too- and for all the times we've looked at flathead Plymouths, 351 Windsors and slant 6's ad nauseum, the one time we get something interesting, you think ol' Dennis will even ask the guy what it is? NOOOOO- What a maroon!

BTW, the spreader was either an R or an H- I used an H for years, but I don't recall whether it had the sheetmetal covers in the back, over the chains.

Yea,I wanted to know what engine that was too. WAAAY too big for a 5.9 Cummins, that's for darned sure. Cat or Detroit or something. That beauty was impressive!

Viewed Chucks post. All I can say is WOW. It not only hauls ARZ, but, a daily driver to boot! I still wear my penny loafers, will anyone out there give me a rat like that. LOL. If they do I will send them a pic. saying thanks and waving ByBy heading down RT66. Very neat twist on farm boy enginuity.

I live about 8 miles from Dennis Gage house, I should say, I did live there, last week his house was totally destoyed by fire. His collection of cars and motorcycles were stored in a outbuilding and were not hurt. I saw the show and was impressed by the segment on the collection in Nashville, Tenn. Later
