Father in law purchased a new lot of round up - spent a day spraying up at his christmas tree farm I sprayed around the property here and at another location - pretty sure we got the mixture right...not doing a darn thing!!!! Not even turning the plants yellow. Anyone else had problems like this?

I find you can spray to early,,, are wait till the weed matures then spray...
I will not spray till the first week of may maybe the second... That's the way it works around here....

My roundup jug says to spray on a hot sunny day when the plants are working hard at growing. Still takes a day or two to see the effects.

Where are you? It's too early for it to do much in VA as well as in NC, as Hobo said.

I couldn't stand the chickweed (which is growing) down the driveway & it took a week for it to work. No use wasting it on anything else. May is early enough around here.

I used some about 2 weeks ago on my gravel parking area (cool temps and rained 3 days later), worked fine. It takes 3-4 days for the plant to absorb and die.

I use the generic brands (glyphosate), but found that the best time to spray is when it is warm, with dew in the evenings (but not rain). The moisture on the foliage makes the plant absorb the stuff. Give it some time. I have sprayed and nothing for a week or more, then all of a sudden it turns yellow, and dies.

Around here Roundup concentrate is about $120.00 per gallon out the door. Someone on this site suggested Gly Star Plus at $58.00 per 2.5 gallons delivered. The price may have changed. Glyphosate is the main ingredient at 41% (Roundup is 51%). I called Agra Supply and was told to use at 2 to 3 oz. per gallon. I tried 3oz and worked well, same with 2.5oz. 2oz seems to be ok too but hasn’t worked long enough to tell yet. It takes about 10 days for total kill.

TSC locally in MO has Pronto Big N Tuff 41% for $39 for the 2.5 gallon jug. Reminds me that I need to pick up a jug at that price. I mix 2 oz per gallon in my 15 gallon sprayer on my atv and have had good luck, but sometimes I have to come back for a second trip on heavier stuff in some fence rows, or on small brush. I always try to add a small amount of detergent to help keep it from beading off the foliage - cheap insurance, and seems to work for me.
