China and Europe wont accept GMO's for political reasons. That's the "reality". If you had been raised in a society in which your government crammed the thought that tomatoes were bad for your health, you would be reluctant as a consumer to eat any.

Europe did it to protect their markets from cheaper imports from the US, something they have been dreaming up excuses over for decades.
 
Corn looked like wheat a long long time ago, someone must have been goofing around with plants for a long time. I like Brussels Sprouts!
