OT Techumseh Engine Snowblower Problem Update

Well, it took me awhile before I had time to work on the ideas you all had for me about the techumseh engine revving up and down all the time... I have no heated shop or garage to work on it, so I had to hurry up and try to do it in the winter! I tried everything.... the seafoam, and looked for a spot where a small spring might be missing, and flushed the carb of all the gas... well, nothing worked. I was just about to figure I had to live with it, when my friend suggested adjusting the arm in the picture. Not sure what it's called, but it was at a slight angle and we just straightened it out and re-tightened the screw that holds it in place... and Boom! IT WORKS! NO MORE WEIRD HIGH AND LOW IDLE! See attached pictures ... works great now!

Not sure how to make the pictures show up

What do you mean you staightened it?Govenor linkage where the star bolt is with the sun dial lines so you must have taken up the play in the linkage.SUCCESS

Yeah,if the governor is loose or out of adjustment,it will work to find the right idle, thus high and low idle.---lha

Now you know why you should buy a service manual for engines you are using. It would have outlined governor adjustment.
