Overheating 1500D

Has any one installed the new Water Pump system on their 1500D and did it help with the overheating problem. Thanks

While waiting for direct answers, let me suggest that if the overheating is due to a neglected cooling system it would be easier and cheaper to service it, and if due to a leaking head gasket the only solution is a new gasket.

it has been serviced as it only has 65 hours, it was 95 degrees outside and running a bushhog in about 8" grass..that is why I am asking....any other time it does not run hot when using Front end loader....only PTO

If you're saying 65 hours since serviced (not since new) are you sure it included cleaning the rad, power-flushing the block, testing or replacing the thermostat (if the 1500 has one) and rad cap, and installing the right coolant? Have you tried hogging with a lower ground- and higher engine-speed?

the 1500 was manufactured 1975 through 1979. 65 hours?? Just an opinion, no experience, I would think the water pump would help some but you do need feedback from experienced users.

An after-market water pump will definitely help to "work-around" a clogged cooling system.

this is a total rebuilt grey market tractor and it is 65 hours since the total rebuild. the 1500 does not have a thermostat. I was running in 3rd gear and high range at about 2200 rpm. was not bogging down and was doing good and idiot light came on. I think I will add gauge first and then go from there. I was wondering if anybody has used the water pump option and did they have good results from it....

I installed pump & gauge on ym1700, best thing I did to bring temp down.
