Overrunning PTO coupler

I just got a large brush hog to connect to my 8n and wondered if I should purchase a Overrunning PTO coupler before running it next year. I know my grandfathers 9n has one because if the PTO is running anything heavy the momentum from the implement will push the tractor forward when you push the clutch in. Thanks for the help.

I use a cost/benefit analysis in a decision like this. Look in the catalog under "overrunnig coupler" and jot down the price. Then look in the same catalog for "8N front grill"...jot down the price. Compare the two and make a decision. It won't be a hard decision.

I believe you answered your own question.

when you get one make sure to measure your pto diameter.This is because the original pto has 1-1/8"dia&most implements are 1-3/8,another reason to have an orc

After your brush hog pushes you through a fence or into something you don't want to hit, the reason to have one will be crystal clear.

You definatly need a overrun coupler. Best thing I ever got for My 8n. We bought one for my father-in-law, for his 541 ford(?). He just loves it also. He did not even know something like the orc even exist.
