They're discussed not infrequently on here. I can't comment with any knowledge as I've never been around a working one, but the folks on here who have them seem to like theirs. Nothing too wild/wacky I expect - probably like any other soft-core roller baler: Simple, no belts, makes a looser bale than a hard-core baler (and of course only one size). Loads of bearings to check & maintain. Will make a decent-looking bale if you really stuff it when it gets to a full bale, but doing so will demand a lot of HP.

But again, that's mostly speculation. One thing I do know for sure is that some parts will be hard to come by. Bearings, sprockets, & chain are obviously standard and easy to find, and simple things like rolls & shafts you could have made at any fab shop. But any more unique/complex part will be hard to find. There was a thread on here last year about and OMC 595 where someone was trying to find parts and having a lot of difficulty. can't find the thread now unfortunately. I pointed the poster to another member on here who I knew had one sitting in a fence row, and I think they got some parts from him. If it seems solid and cheap, not much to lose. But if it needs any non-standard parts, you may want to keep looking. The pickup would be my biggest concern. It looks like teeth are still available from many aftermaket sources (including this site), so they aren't really a concern. Cam followers for the pickup should be standard. But if the cam track is worn out or sloppy, I'd definitely pass. I suspect the cam track and pickup bars will be the most likely non-standard part to be worn, because those are the first non-standard parts to get worn on most balers, so that's what I'd be looking at most.

All states ag has two for salvage and there’s a website that that has a few parts . This one is cheap enough I traded a basket case tractor for it so I feel like it will be ok for backup baler
