Where do you find new or used pallet racking?

I got mine when a big box store close in my area and liquidated it's inventory. You can check e bay, Craig's list, or google pallet racks. I looked for close to a year before I found mine local.

What's a pallet rack? If you want pallets, I get mine from Menards. Go to the yard and see if they will give them to you. Most lumber yards will.

Check phone directory listings, internet, etc, for "material handling - used" and such. There are many companies that specialize in purchasing used racking and conveyors and such when warehouses and stores close down, and then resell it when businesses set up that don't want to spend the money on new.

If you don't know what pallet racking is, go visit Home Depot. All of that orange metal shelving they have is pallet racking.

I have two sections (three 14 ft uprights 42" deep) and six shelves spaced two ft apart, on each section using 8 ft long beams. I have another section for storage mostly of motor oil and jack stands and other auto related tooling and equipment, it is a single section with two uprights 12 ft high, 26" deep and with five shelves 10 ft long, spaced as needed, about 2 ft apart.

All came from a used material handling company about 30 miles from me in the south Atlanta area.

I paid 50$ an end and 16$ each for the bars recently out of a closing store. They had lots left and the new owner takes possession tonight so I dropped in to see if they would sell some more at 1/2 price last minute but they turned me away.
