Paper belt pulley

Working on restoring a Cletrac General with Dad. It has a paper belt pulley on it which is in good shape. Is there anything special to taking care of this? I remember having a paper pulley on a silo filler we once had and I don't think we did anything to it and it sat out for years.

Just scrub it up clean with laundry detergent and let it dry out good. Paint up the hub and metal parts in your preferance of color. Once everything is good and dry, soak the paper parts good with linseed oil and let it dry out. It will out last you.
