Parking Brake.

I had a couple of aftermarket parking brake systems on my 400's. You could set the brakes by pulling a lever that was on the left side of the transmission. I really liked them, because I have trouble locking the brakes tight enough with my prosthetic leg. Does anyone know where one of these parking brakes are that would fit on a 300RN?

Below is a close up of one of these hand brakes on one of the 400's I used to own.

WE used to sell a hand brake for the Rock Island 100 series tractors. It was made by Snowco. The same company that built elevators, augers, and grain cleaners.
It wouldn't be that hard to reproduce one of them.
The biggest down fall to them, was they were hard to get your size 13 Klemm Kaddile Hoppers around them when getting on or off the tractor.

Loren,
Did they look anything like the one in the picture I posted? The one on my 400 should have been offset to the right a few inches. It would make getting your foot on the clutch peddle easier.

Would you have one of these sitting around in your archives?

Similar, but we never sold any for Racine tractors, so they were built different. They did have a lever with latch handle and a cast latch rack that bolted to the range cover of The COM tractors. COMs didn't have a hand clutch lever in the way. You just shut off std. tranny tractors in gear, or locked the brake peddles.
I did read in your post that you have some physical issues, but we never had to address those.
No I don't have an extra, but as I said they would be easy to make. as long as it could be made to clear the hand clutch lever. Might have to bend the clutch lever similar to a 430 triple range DOM tractor.

I'm not a very good fabricator. I have the imagination, just lack the tools and experience. If I don't find one I may take a stab at making one.

This is the type of parking brake I have on my Ford 8N. It's a real simple design, and it locks both brakes down tight.
