In California we need to go to a smog check station to check what our vehicle is adding the air pollution every two years.. I took my 96 Dodge tractor hauler, gas V 10 in today. It passed with excellent numbers, for $96.00. Now get to pay 358.00 Ca license to drive no more than 1000 miles, a year . Then pay 700.00 a year insurance, for my weed mowing business. At least it gets good milage 8 mi. ga. @ $6.35. Glad to see the priceis coming down. At 83 I still enjoy doing my mowing business. Stan

I don't see why people complain about how "nice" things are in California. There are only 49 other states to choose from.

Truth be told, I was born and raised in California. I have brother, a sister, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews who seem content enough living there. I just got fed up with the politics and moved out twenty five years ago. We all make choices in this world.

Maybe the rest of your family either ignores the politics or like the policies set forth. Don't blame you for leaving

Do you have to pay anything to the state to use the tractor?

I wish NC would raise the rates for inspection stations, @ $12.75 for a safety and $15 for emissions its a lost leader. In the county I live in they did away with emission checks a few years ago I was stuck with a $6500 inspection system ( a $600 computer/printer with a $5900 program)

When I was growing up, headlights ALWAYS needed adjusting (for an additional fee of course). Today it's a smog test....inspection station hooks your vehicle to it with direct connection to Austin (state capitol). When they get the print out, you are good to go. Your local tax assessor/collector issues the new sticker only when you prove insurance, DL, and they have the passed smog inspection data on file. Test is about 35 bucks, depending on the vehicle tags are somewhere below a hundred bucks, and insurance is around 1000 per year. Yesterday gas was about $3.50 and diesel a buck more.

Never knew Dodge made a V10. I've had two of the Ford F250 V10s and liked both of them. Still own #2 and unfortunately they are gas guzzlers. Mine sits in the shed most of the time as I only use it for pulling tractors to shows and rides. :p

E-10 gas just dropped to $3.989 here in Rochester, MN, $5.099 for #2 road diesel. Might still be a quite a while before they gradually settle back down to last February's $2.59 and $3.75, maybe that will happen before 2027 arrives or maybe in 2028?

Late to the party, but I never heard of any "V10 gasser trucks" other than Ford.....However, coming to my recollection, I do recall somebody made a sports car V10 Gasser....might have been Dodge.....don't remember.
