Passed again

Friend had a Viper V10, that thing was wild. Brother drove 1 ton Dodge vans with V10s for work, said the engines were ok power-wise, but really thirsty. He didn't like the vans though. Said they were very cheaply built compared to the Chevy and Ford vans they had. Fire department had an F450 4X4 V10, everybody hated that one. It couldn't pull itself with a load of water on it.

Lawn mowing guy,s truck really needs a tune up. Ordered my v 10 Dodge new in 94. 4.11 gears, 5 speed dually 4 x4. 10 m.p.g city easy now. Really likes 4 electrode plugs. Factory exhaust is,was stinko! Same with cats. Went with twin corvette mufflers, exit behind passenger running board. Hope ya ain,t got auto trans. Way week. Go with 180 deg stat. K n air cleaner can't hurt. Beware throttle sticking. I added a spring. Poor oem design. Can tow 5500 lbs and start out in second gear, modest grade.

When I was growing up, headlights ALWAYS needed adjusting (for an additional fee of course). Today it's a smog test....inspection station hooks your vehicle to it with direct connection to Austin (state capitol). When they get the print out, you are good to go. Your local tax assessor/collector issues the new sticker only when you prove insurance, DL, and they have the passed smog inspection data on file. Test is about 35 bucks, depending on the vehicle tags are somewhere below a hundred bucks, and insurance is around 1000 per year. Yesterday gas was about $3.50 and diesel a buck more.
No inspection required now.

I just bought a ‘99 Dodge w/V10. It’s fun. Gets about a mile to the gallon better than my ‘99 454 in all driving conditions. Not a fair comparison though. Dodge is short bed ext. cab. Chevy is crew cab dually with 110 gal fuel tank and tool box.
