Perkins A3.152 problem

The MF35 project I picked up has the Perkins A3.152 diesel and the previous owner ran it while the thrust washers were out of place and in the oil pan. So the block and crank are ruined. Anyone dealt with this. It is not easy to find a replacement complete motor or block. Should I just look for an AD3.152 to use instead? If anyone has a good source for salvage motors I am open to suggestions.
 
There was a machine shop in Belfast Maine that repaired my Perkins 236 that was severely worn from the same problem. Unfortunately the owner is deceased. There may be a Machine shop that would do it somewhere. It involved some welding on the Crank if I remember right and a thicker thrust bearing. It was a long time ago but the tractor was still going last I knew with no problems.
 
I had the same problem with my 135. I found a machine shop that coud splash weld the block, but it was very expensive.
I ended up buying a brand NEW block for $75 less than the cost of welding the old one.
If you have a good Massey dealer, ask them to search for a block, you never know whats out there. I got lucky.
 
I own a 1963 MF 35 X...3 cylinder Perkins Diesel ..A3.152 Engine

The same thing had happened to my MF 35...around 6000 hours..
The Crankshaft COUNTER WEIGHTS finely struck the screen that is on the intake/ Oil pickup of the engine oil pump..

My late brother was a master Machinist.....:)

Welded, Ground...Engine has ran perfect for the past 37 years.....

The block was not welded ....thicker Thrust washers and what ever else he done.
Thrust faces of Crankshaft were built up......

I miss my brother...passed away at age 58.

Couple hundred operating hours since engine work was done..

I now have 12 hard working hours on the complete Transmission over haul.....6 speed.....

Operates perfect.
